C'mon People!

Sorry John Robinson, not even Eric Dickerson would be able to help you this week. The Reb's lost by 22 to the Jayhawks, yes Kansas.
Wisconsin is at home, this is going to be huge. The Badgers had some trouble on the road at a very tough WVU, but eventually wore them out and won/covered. UNLV, terrible on the road is going to one of the best teams in the Big10+1.

Is anyone else feeling this?

Am I missing something here? I smell a woodshed game here.

Work with me on this one.

Alvarez was not pleased at all with the performance against the Zips. Akron actually had a chance to take the lead late in the 3rd, but they turned the ball over and Wisky held them off from that point. UNLV will not be over looked, this one does look pretty solid.

Like em a lot also, 1st 3 this wk, Wisky, Boise @ - 20, UConn +4.5. For UNLV Croom is banged up but is supposed to play. Just wish I had a little more confidence in Sorgi. Think Rebs are going to get a huge dose of Wi running gm, at least I hope so. BTW Akron CAN score all 11 starters back on O, may lay another 20 against a terrible E. Mich tm @ home.

Hope this helps...CKO by Gold Sheet choses UNLV this weekend and here is why!

10 UNLV over *Wisconsin
UNLV 20 - *Wisconsin 30
CKO sources rather surprised talented UNLV is getting nearly 3 full TDs vs. Wisconsin squad that gave up a whopping 534 yds. in 48-31 win vs. middle-of-pack MAC foe Akron week ago.Note, Badgers led just 34-31 in 4th Q before scoring final 2 TDs in last 6:30. See no reason Rebels improving 6-4, jr. QB Nantkes and his solid
supporting cast can’t do similar damage to a non-dominating Wisconsin “D” that’s taken some hits on the DL. With UNLV’s slashing RB Croom (115 YR before injury vs. Kansas) expected back from strained thigh, pocketpassing Nantkes able to work in plenty of play-action. And don’t see Badger offense exploding against a firedup, healthier Rebel stop unit (sr. starting DT Oniwar back after missing 1st 2 games) that missed nearly 30 tackles in zombie-like effort in Lawrence. UNLV players said they were distracted by this revenge game vs.Badgers, who beat them 27-7 in Las Vegas before power outage prematurely ended game with 7 mins. to go LY.

The Rebels struggled mightily last week in Lawrence, yielding 546 total yards (276 rushing, 270 passing). The Jayhawks picked up a whopping 32 first downs in the contest and didn't punt once. They held the ball for more than 35 minutes and enjoyed a tremendous third quarter in which they scored 23 points in putting the game out of reach. Still, the Rebels made some plays, recording seven TFLs, forced a fumble and came up with an interception. Safety Joe Miklos had a monster game, tallying 13 tackles, including 11 solo efforts. It was a vast improvement from his three-tackle performance in the opener. So far this season, the Rebels have made 11 stops behind the line of scrimmage. UNLV will need to tighten the purse strings across the board, and do so in a hurry. The Badgers are likely to try and establish the run early in this contest, and if they are able to do so, it could be a long afternoon for coach Robinson's squad.

Speaking of the Wisconsin ground game, it was in full effect last week against Akron, as superstar RB Anthony Davis rumbled for 252 yards on 29 carries with three TDs, and his 414 yards rushing this season ranks him second in the nation. Not to be outdone, standout WR Lee Evans had a superb game as well, catching nine balls for 214 yards and two scores. Evans now has 284 yards receiving, ranking him third in the country. Directing the UW offense is QB Jim Sorgi, who completed 14-of-25 pass attempts for 281 yards and two TDs against the Zips. For the season, Sorgi has hit the mark on 57.6 percent of his throws for 496 yards with three TDS against just one INT. Sorgi's 99-yard scoring strike to Evans in the fourth quarter last week was the longest play from scrimmage in school history and tied the Big Ten mark for the longest pass play. Evans is the only receiver in the nation with a 200-yard game to his credit this season, while it marked the first time in UW history that a running back and a receiver each recorded over 200 yards in the same contest. Scoring points hasn't been the Badgers' problem through the first two games as they are putting up 36.0 ppg on typical yardage averages of 266.5 ypg on the ground and 248.0 ypg through the air.

As long as Wisconsin holds onto the ball, they will score every possession. The question is can they stop UNLV. I don't know the best play may be the over. After looking at it some more, I see it now 50-24.

KMan,
Good call, I'll take the Bagdes and over in this one. John Robinson is gonna have to sneak off the sidelines to turn the lights out on this game. Won't have one of his vegas boys around to throw the switch for him when the game gets out of reach.

As far as the article raving about how great UNLV is
icon_rolleyes.gif
, was that written by Robinson himself, or did he let the players submit there own write up on how great they are.
They may have had tackles for loss and an interception, but the were playing KANSAS!
icon_eek.gif
. Who wouldn't get that.

I am not as disapointed in the Wisc. efforet against there Mac comp in week 2 as perhaps I should/could be. I still see the Badgers punishing the Rebs when they have the ball, and the D should do just enough to get the job done.

I still love the badgers this weekend!
and I'm stickin' w/ Texas as well. Sorry Nutt fans!

I think the over 57 is the best bet here. But hurry if you want it.

wisky seems complacent as a big favorite, going 4-13 ats as a home favorite since 2000. they are 3-16 as a dd fav since 1999. they were able to cover big numbers in '98, but that was a much better team. trends are trends--take them for what they are worth-- i think this one demonstrates that alvarez has trouble getting the boys up for lesser opponents.

bullseye i agree. wisky should win big and score some points in the process. but they're gonna give some up too. I got the over at 57.5 and look for a nice cover here.

Like they covered the big numbers in '98 with a solid team, the Badgers do it again with a dominant WR back this year from injury, and a stud RB in the backfield to carry the load. This team will play solid on both sides of the ball in front of the home crowd. It's simply the eratic play of the QB that will keep this from being a double your 401k game this week. *(See the FSU/MD post last week)

niatross,
The D line is not the best part of this team.. but keep in mind that they are playing UNLV. They will not all have to have carreer days to win/cover in this one. UNLV is average at best, and Wiskey should score enough on them to cover with the O.
